Privacy Policy

When you create a Reading Ready Portal™ account you provide:
Your name, email address, and a password. Your password is stored securely by our website platform. We cannot see it.

When you register for the Portal you provide:
Your ZIP code; the birth month and year of each child you list; the language or languages spoken in your home; how you received your My First Steps to Reading® set; and, if applicable, your organization’s name.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information:

  • To create and manage your Portal account and show you resources appropriate for your child’s age.

  • To let you know when new resources are available for your child’s age or your home language.

  • To answer your questions.

  • To send updates and invitations if you signed up for them.

  • To understand who we are reaching and improve our programs.

  • To keep our website safe and working properly.

When we report to funders, partners, our board, or organizations that help distribute books, we share combined or de-identified program information only, such as the number of families registered in a ZIP code. We do not provide individual family names, email addresses, or child information to Rotary clubs, schools, clinics, funders, or other book-distribution partners.

About Your Child’s Information

We ask about children only through you, the parent or caregiver.

We ask for your child’s birth month and year, not a full birthdate, and we do not ask for your child’s name. We use this information to provide age-appropriate resources and to let you know when new resources are available.

Our website and Reading Ready Portal™ are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will address it promptly.

How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We may share information only:

  • With service providers that help us operate our website and programs, such as Squarespace and Givebutter, and other providers we use for services such as event registration. These providers process information as necessary to provide their services.

  • As combined or de-identified information with funders, partners, our board, and organizations that help distribute books. This information does not identify you or your child.

  • When required by law or when necessary to protect the safety, rights, or security of imagineOne, our users, or others.

If you sign up to receive news, updates, or invitations from imagineOne, you can unsubscribe using the link included in those emails.

Messages necessary to administer your Reading Ready Portal™ account, such as password resets, may still be sent to you.
