Measuring the Revolution
OUR IMPACT
Real Families. Real Communities.
Real Transformation.
The Reading Ready Revolution is already happening: in homes, classrooms, and communities across the country.
At imagineOne, we believe prevention is powerful. We start where it matters most - at home and in the earliest years - when a child’s brain is growing fastest and the foundation for reading is formed.
This isn’t just about measuring skills, it’s about measuring confidence, connection, and community.
Children are starting school ready to read. Parents are discovering their power as teachers. Communities are uniting to solve the illiteracy crisis.
Every data point is backed by a real story; a spark of literacy, a moment of joy, a path opened.
BEHIND EVERY NUMBER IS A FAMILY WHOSE LIFE CHANGED FOREVER

COMMUNITIES IN ACTION
Real Impact from Our Pilot Communities
We’re working shoulder-to-shoulder with families, educators, healthcare providers, and community leaders in communities across the country.
From small rural towns to bustling urban centers, these communities partnered with imagineOne to create lasting change.
Each community and each initiative represents families empowered, children thriving, and local leaders who believed that literacy transformation was possible. This is how revolution spreads: one community at a time, one success story inspiring the next.

HEAD START - BUTLER COUNTY, PA
Program: My First Steps to Reading
Families and educators are working together to build early literacy skills before school ever begins. At Early Learning Connections Head Start, teachers like Arlene Roth have used the My First Steps to Reading toolkit for over 20 years, and they’re seeing measurable results.
A Week in Arlene’s Classroom:
Letter introduction with picture cards, songs, and My First Steps to Reading books.
Vocabulary building through student-led word associations.
Phonics and letter recognition with visual and verbal reinforcement.
Hands-on letter writing and small-group skill reinforcement.
Home Connections:
Families receive the My First Steps to Reading toolkit to keep and use at home.
Teachers share book titles and songs with families through weekly newsletters.
Families sing, talk, and read together using familiar routines.
The Results:
“I see so much growth in the kiddos with letter recognition, writing, and even letter sounds!” said Arlene Roth, Head Start Teacher.
This is a model that bridges classroom and home learning with simple, joyful, proven tools.
DESERT SANDS UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT CA
Program: My First Steps to Reading
In Desert Sands Unified School District (DSUSD), Transitional Kindergarten classrooms are building strong literacy foundations with the My First Steps to Reading toolkit. Like our Head Start partners in PA, DSUSD educators are using My First Steps to Reading to turn everyday classroom moments into joyful, skill-building experiences that support both children and their families.
A Week in the Classroom: My First Steps to Reading in Action
TK teachers use the program’s simple, phonics-based structure to introduce a new letter each week. With read-alouds, songs, vocabulary-building activities, and hands-on letter practice, students engage in multi-sensory learning that builds alphabet knowledge, oral language, and early phonemic awareness.
Beyond the Classroom: Family Engagement
Every participating family receives their own My First Steps to Reading toolkit to keep and use at home—a key component in connecting school learning to the home environment. Teachers send home books, songs, and guidance to empower parents as their child’s first reading teacher.
The Result:
Children are entering kindergarten with stronger letter recognition, improved sound awareness, and greater reading confidence—because they’ve had daily support both at school and at home.

This is what it looks like when an entire town wraps its arms around early literacy.
INTERVENTION MODEL - BETHANY LITERACY CLINIC
While imagineOne focuses on prevention, we also support children who need intervention. That’s why we’ve partnered with the Bethany Literacy Clinic at Bethany Lutheran College to help struggling readers.
Clinic Highlights:
Uses structured literacy rooted in the Science of Reading
Shows measurable growth in fluency and comprehension
Data collection proves strong returns on investment
Our Role:
Funding this critical work ensures that children who need help now are getting it—while we work upstream to make sure fewer children fall behind in the first place.
