Activity 1: The Heart Hunt
Instructions:
Cut out three or four shapes of hearts from red construction paper or color some hearts on our downloadable coloring page and cut them out. Hide the hearts around the room. Tell your child: ‘We are going on a h-h-heart hunt!’ Give them clues using the target sound as they search.
Supplies:
crayons, scissors, downloadable coloring page
Activity 2: The Hat Hop
Instructions:
Lay a few paper circles or pieces of tape on the floor like stepping stones. Have your child hop from one to the next, chanting ‘h-h-hop, h-h-hop!’ each time they land. Tuck a picture of an H word (a hat, a horse, a house) under a couple of the circles for them to flip over and name after they land.
